Certificate IV in TESOL:
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages is a rewarding and enjoyable activity opening doors for employment, travel and friendship all over the world.
The Certificate IV in TESOL is a proven and practical way to prepare for this task.
The Certificate IV in TESOL is part of the Australian Qualifications Framework and like all VET programs, it takes a competency-based approach to training, which ensures that it is clearly focused on skills, knowledge and attributes necessary for teaching English internationally. This Certificate IV in TESOL also recognises the developmental nature of acquiring new skills and has a degree of flexibility in the timeframe of assessments as well as the practicum arrangements.
Course structure
The course is comprised of 12 compulsory Units of Competency and 2 elective Units of Competency. The total study time commitment is about 220 hours.
This is broken down into the following components:

Course dates:
The face-to-face lecture content of 65 hours is delivered over 12 Wednesday evenings
and 6 Saturdays. The 20 hours of practicum are scheduled during weekdays at the convenience of participants and supervising teachers.

Since Language Training Institute (LTI) began delivering TESOL Courses in 1998, LTI has trained hundreds of people from all walks of life to Teach English through the Nationally Accredited TESOL Course. Many LTI graduates have found teaching positions both overseas and within Australia after completing the course.
